Traditional rods leave you casting and untangling. The Catapult Rod keeps them part of the action.
REGULAR ROD
CATAPULT ROD
✕You cast it for them
✓They pull back and launch
✕You fix the tangled lines
✓They reel it in themselves
✕They stand around waiting
✓They stay in the action
✕They ask to go home
✓They ask to go fishing again
Watch how easy it is to launch:
They Get That "Whoa, Did You See That?!" Moment
The slingshot launch sends their bait way out where the fish actually are — even if they’ve never held a rod before.
That first big launch? Pure excitement. They’re hooked before they even catch anything.
You Finally Get to Fish Too
No more hearing “Can you cast it for me?” on repeat all day.
They do it themselves. You actually get to sit down, relax, and enjoy the water. That’s the trip you imagined when you planned it.
Nonstop Action Keeps Them Going for Hours
Pull back. Launch. Reel in. Repeat.
The constant action is what keeps kids engaged. No sitting around waiting. No boredom. Just that fast, satisfying loop they already understand from toys.
Parents are reporting 2–3 hour fishing trips with kids who normally can’t sit still for 10 minutes.
Questions About The Rod?
Is the Catapult Rod a toy or a real fishing rod?
It launches like a slingshot, but fishes like a real rod. It uses real fishing line, hooks and bait. The included reel works like a traditional reel; the launcher replaces the overhead cast.
What age is it recommended for?
Recommended for ages 5 and up, with responsible adult supervision. It is designed to make fishing easier for young beginners, and adults enjoy it too.
Is it safe for children to use?
The forward-facing launcher removes the overhead casting motion, but this is still real fishing equipment. Adults should supervise children when loading hooks, handling bait, fishing near water and removing catches.
Can adults use it too?
Yes. It is simple enough for beginners and fun for experienced anglers who want a different way to send their bait out.
Can it really catch fish?
Yes. Once the bait lands, it works like a regular fishing rod. Wait for a bite, set the hook and reel in using the included reel.
How far can it launch?
Typically 20–30 ft, with distances up to 100 ft depending on bait weight, setup and conditions.
What bait and lures can I use?
Common fishing bait and appropriately sized lures that fit securely inside the launching cup.
What happens if the launcher wears out?
Each rod includes one spare launcher. For replacement parts or setup help, contact support@colitt.com.

Had to get both of us and the rod in this picture. We'd spent the afternoon together on the dock, and this was a moment I wanted to keep. It's the shared memories that make these trips for me.
We stopped by the pond and had a go together while the light was still nice. I was happy to stay beside her and help as we went. A simple outing, but one I really enjoyed sharing.
He wanted to show me the reel and explain what he was doing. I loved that he was interested in the rod itself as well as going fishing. We took our time and made an afternoon of it.
I took this close-up while we were getting used to the rod. You can see the setup better like this than in a picture of the box. We're still exploring it, but it's been interesting to try something different.
We made time for a stop at the dock and brought this along to try. I liked watching him concentrate on what he was doing while we stayed together. A nice little activity to add to the day.
my little princess cant join in fishing with her brothers because she feels as its to difficult to cast, but i dont blame her as its a skill to pick up, but she wanted to join in fishing and this rod helped her join in our family fishing trips, her face doesnt look the happiest but man, she was thrilled to join in our weekend fishing trip
normaly my little boy has trouble with casting and gets his lines tangled a lot. but this heLped a tone he is picking up the skill of fishing nicely for his age
i bought this for my son to take with him on his fishing trips with dad, i asked hows the trip going is he bored yet and my hiusband texted me back this photo 😂
this is the only thing that keeps my kid sane during fishing trips, i can actually fish in peace and not baby sit him every 5 minutes helping him, gives him indepenece which is great
little fisherman is "HOOKED" no pun intended! He says its like a game haha, as long as he has fun fishing then id say im a good dad and this rod is a hit for sure.
my little boy gets so excited to play with nerf guns but HE HATES FISHING, i saw an ad for this on facebook and i thought he would actually like it becuase its like a "toy nerf gun" but for fishing, didnt know he would go this crazy for it lol. i do recomend showing them how to use it for the first 1-2 goes, then they pick it up, well atleast my one did (he is 5 years old)
its actually neat, i normally fish in lakes and ponds and as you know the best spots are the ones you cant get to! but i launched this thing around 25-30 feet and actually got hit those spots that i never could without a boat!
Got this for my little fisherman to take with him on his father son trips, becuase he always complains his bored after 10 minutes lol, so instead of reaching for his ipad he can reach for this! first trip out and he was actually into fishing!! worth it just to see him not complain for once!
This was the picture I wanted from the evening. Everyone doing their own bit of fishing while we spent time together by the water. I'm glad we brought the rods and stayed for a while.
Just the two of us taking a bit of time by the lake. We brought the rod along and worked through it together. I like having a reason to slow down and do something side by side.
That grin was why I wanted a picture. We were spending some time by the water, having a go with the rod together. I enjoyed seeing him so keen to take part.
They both wanted to be in the picture, so we stopped and got one together. We'd had a good time on the dock and there was plenty to talk about afterwards. This is the kind of family photo I like keeping.
We spent a bit of time looking over the rod before getting started from the pier. I wanted to understand the setup properly and try it at our own pace. It's certainly different from what we've used before.
We brought it along and had a turn while we were on the boat. I wanted to see how we'd get on with the different setup. Still getting familiar with it, but enjoying having something new to try together.
We took it down to the bank to get a feel for it. Still learning the setup, but it gave us something different to work on together. I liked having the space and time to give it a proper go.
We worked through it together instead of rushing. I liked having a little job we could both be involved in, and she wanted to keep trying. That time beside the water was the best part for me.
This was her reaction when it was her turn to hold the rod. We stayed beside her and took our time with it. A lovely little moment from our afternoon on the dock.
He wanted me to take this before we got busy with the rest of the day. The rod became something we could try together on the boat. I enjoyed seeing that much enthusiasm about a fishing trip.
I wanted a turn with it before handing it around. It's a different setup from a regular rod, so I was taking my time getting familiar with how it feels. Interesting little bit of kit to try on our next fishing outing.
We brought the rod out for an afternoon by the pond and spent time getting to know it. The different casting setup gave us something new to try together. I wanted a photo of the action as well as the kit.
He insisted on holding it himself for the photo. I like that the fishing part can start with a bit of curiosity about the equipment. We had a lovely time taking it down to the pond together.
He wanted to have a turn as soon as we reached the water. We stayed together while he got used to holding it and trying things out. I liked seeing him so interested in joining in.
I wanted to get a proper photo of the rod because it's quite different from the ones we're used to. The compact shape caught my attention straight away. Keen to take it down to the water and get familiar with it.
